Passports

The Polk City Community Library is a passport acceptance facility. Appointments are required for passport services. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your scheduled appointment, it will be canceled.

Passport Acceptance Facility Policy

As of December 18, 2023: Routine processing is 6-8 weeks and expedited processing is 2-3 weeks from the time your application arrives at the processing center. 

IMPORTANT: You must pay for  your passport by check or money order. You will need at least one CHECK or MONEY ORDER payable to the U.S. Department of State. Payment for the library fees (passport execution fees and photos) may be made by cash, check, credit card (surcharge applies), or VENMO.

• Effective January 2023 the fee for the library to send a passport via 1-2 Day Delivery will increase to $25.
• Passport Photos: $15 each
• BEWARE of scam passport sites! Only use travel.state.gov. If a site directs you to pay online or offers you passport insurance, it is not valid.
