The Polk City brush drop-off is for POLK CITY RESIDENTS ONLY. Non-Resident drop-offs are not accepted. Private contractor drop-offs are not accepted. All license plates are being recorded to check for illegal use of the brush drop-off. A valid drivers license ID showing proof of a Polk City residential address will be required at the check-in station. OUTSIDE CITY LIMIT POLK CITY ADDRESSES ARE NOT PERMITTED! An illegal dumping fine will be administered to anyone who dumps and is not a resident of Polk City. Dumping brush at the fence or throwing brush over the fence will be considered illegal dumping and with be subject to a fine. 

Items Allowed

  • Residential tree branches & limbs smaller than 10 inches in diameter
  • Bushes and shrubs
  • Yard-Waste** (leave & lawn clippings)

Items Not Allowed

  • Stumps with root-balls
  • Limbs over 20 feet long
  • Construction Materials
  • Concrete & Bricks 
  • NO CONTRACTOR DEBRIS

Hours of Operation - effective April 1st through October 31st - you will be required to show valid driver's license ID at the check-in station

Friday 7:30am- 3:00pm (except holidays)

First Saturday of the month 8:00am to 12noon (except holidays)

Mulch is FREE to anyone interested in loading it. The Polk City Public Works Department works hard to maintain and care for the brush pile to prepare it for chipping. Public Works employees do not load mulch for the public.

105.07A Illegal Dumping at City Facility

No person, unless a City resident, shall discard solid waste, landscape waste, yard waste or any other item at any City owned facility.  A City resident shall discard allowed materials only into areas or receptacles provided for such purpose. 

Unauthorized use of the facility may result in prosecution for trespass and illegal dumping.
