Water Reduction Usage
alerts

With this week’s hot temperatures into the high 80s and 90s, it is anticipated drought conditions will worsen across central Iowa. All water users are encouraged to Use Water Wisely. It’s the Right Thing to Do. Lawn irrigation creates the biggest demand on the water production system. Irrigation users are asked to follow a schedule and cut back their consumption to no irrigation on Mondays. We are asking everyone to voluntarily reduce irrigation by at least 25%, as this will help bring the high customer demand down to a more manageable level. Please remember:

- Watering is not recommended on Mondays or during the hottest part of the day.

-Watering in the overnight hours prior to 6am will reduce peak loads on water facilities.

- Even-numbered addresses are encouraged to water only on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

- Odd-numbered addresses are encouraged to water only on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturday
